Visitor Options If you have subscribed to one of our services, you may unsubscribe by following the instructions which are included in e-mail that you receive. Cookies Cookies are small digital signature files that are stored by your web browser that allow your preferences to be recorded when visiting the website. Also, they may be used to track your return visits to the website, so you do not have to log into the forum again. |
| Is Forum for Women Owned by Men? |
| Unlike most other sites dedicated to women and women's issues, Forum for Women is owned and operated by women. Since we deal with many issues on the forum, we are able to help other women with issues they may face. We try to help as best we can to give women the best advice. While it may not be what they want to hear, we always try to explain the reasoning behind the advice we give. There are some issues in which we won't advise you on what to do. We can advise you on different aspects to think about, but in some areas, the decisions need to be your and yours alone. We are here to help you, but we're never going to try to take control over you and your life. |
| What are the rules at Forum for Women? |
| Forum for Women is a supportive discussion board. That means there is no bickering or fighting allowed on the board. All topics don't have to be positive, but interaction with other members must be. Confrontations are not permitted. Hate or Discrimination In addition, there is to be no promotion of hate or discrimination. Even though this forum is about Women's issues, mean spirited discussions about men are not permitted. This forum is for women only, but it is not against men. Any posts promoting hate or discrimination will be removed immediately, and the offender's IP address will be blocked from the forum. Obscene, Violent or Adult Content Obscene or violent language is not permitted on these boards. Adult content is also not permitted as these pages may be viewed by minors. Any posts including obscene, violent or adult content will be removed immediately, and the offender's IP will be blocked from the forum. SPAM is not permitted. There are sections of the forum designated for business offers and store promotions. Any spam not in the appropriate area will be removed. Offers posted in the proper areas cannot contain hidden fees. For example, texting for coupons is not permitted as those have hidden phone charges. Unless previously approved, any post from a new member (member with less than 10 posts) containing a link will be removed. The new member will then be banned from the forum. ALL women are accepted here. If you have a group of 5 or more members, we can add your group to the forum. Please remember that not all of the members here are mothers, have online businesses or may be interested in the same topics as you. Be respectful of the other members, and do not exclude them in your group. This forum is for ALL women and will remain as such. Free Speech Since we are located within the United States of America, we must uphold the constitution. With that being said, you are legally allowed to post whatever content you'd like even if it goes against our rules. While you are legally allowed to post such content, we are legally allowed to remove it. Therefore, we reserve the right to approve all content within this forum. We reserve the right to delete all content that does not conform to the rules of this forum. Support Groups If you would like to start a support group, please contact us. Support groups may be open, private (visible only to registered viewers) or by invitation only. If the group is by invitation only, it will not be visible from the Forum for Women home page. Since we do want to include all members in the forum, only certain issues will be allowed to have invitation only groups. Signatures Signatures are a great way to send a message without spamming the forums. However, we do have some rules. Advertising signatures should not be wider than the post box, more than 125 pixels high or animated. Only three links are permitted in signatures unless prior approval has been given. HTML is not permitted in the signature as it can disrupt pages. BB code is allowed. If you are not familiar with BB code, fell free to ask. The buttons at the top of the post are helpful as well. Images, such as banners, are allowed in signatures. A small amount of animation is allowed in non-advertising avatars, such as glitter. Feel free to ask if you have a question about an image or banner. We are willing to make exceptions depending on the level of forum participation. For example, if you have an image that is a bit large or has animations and you participate in the forums on a regular basis, the image might be allowed. *Advertisements for get-rich-quick schemes, supplements, miracle weight-loss products, miracle topical creams and any type of online schemes not safe for members are not permitted in signatures. We are here to support women; not take advantage of them. We feel that each member's signature is their part of the forum as is their profile. As long as the rules above are followed, be as creative as you'd like. *Please note that we reserve the right to remove signatures from members that no longer participate in the forum. This will most likely occur if your signature contains many images and links to your sites and you've made a limited number of posts or asked that your account be closed. |
| What do you do with our information? |
| The Forum for Women and administrators do not sell ANY information to third parties. The information you provide is used for forum identification only.
Please note that any information you included in your profile can be seen by other members and guests. If you choose not to allow others to see that information, you must change the privacy settings on your profile. We also recommend that you do not share private and personal information with other members. Even though we do not share any information, we cannot guarantee that other members won't share your information. Forum for Women does not endorse or support any members or their businesses. Always use caution and keep your contact information private. |
| Why doesn't my signature work? |
| Once you have 10 posts, your signature will show on the forum. This helps us control spam as well as prevents new users from flooding the forum with their links. Our goal is to support women. Therefore, we'd prefer you join to help other women. Free advertising for your business is an added benefit, but should not be the only reason you are joining. |
